Zedovary root

Zedoary root is actually a rhizome with a thin brown skin and a bright orange, It is also known as White Turmeric,The white root has a fruity smell a bit like mango or perhaps guava but its taste is bitter and similar to ginger. The plant is native to India but now naturalized in other places. The zedoary root traditionally use to treat pain, and a variety of skin ailments including wounds, as well as menstrual irregularities and ulcers. In Indonesia, it is ground to a powder and added to make white curry pastes.​
